Fear & Greed Falls to 26 as Tron Records $375.3M Net Outflow
Sentiment slid deeper into Fear and total market cap slipped while majors edged higher, as capital moved toward Ethereum lending and stablecoin venues and exchange-security headlines dominated the news.
- The Fear & Greed Index dropped to 26 (Fear) from 37 yesterday and 48 a week ago, and total market cap slipped 2.29% to $2.63T, even as BTC, ETH and SOL posted 24-hour gains of +0.67%, +1.66% and +1.31%, a divergence that leaves the majors' weekly changes negative across the board.
- Ethereum was the main large chain to draw net inflows, at $178.7M, while Tron's net flow was -$375.3M and USDD's TVL change was -26.39% on the day, a pattern consistent with defensive positioning rather than broad risk appetite.
- Security dominated the news flow: North Korea denied a role in the Binance hack after the FBI pointed to TraderTraitor CoinDesk, Mercado Bitcoin paused withdrawals after a breach The Block, and South Korea's president called for a national cybersecurity czar CoinDesk.
